Commissioned by the Berlin Film Festival to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Wall, the "The Berlin Wall" premiered at the 2009 Berlinale and was one of five finalists in the Berlin Today Award.

A poetic-realist film touching on themes of misunderstanding and xenophobia, "The Berlin Wall" tells the story of Werner Schlömerkemper, a 75 year-old who one day silently begins to rebuild the Berlin wall. He soon attracts the help of many volunteers, although no one knows the true motives behind his actions.

THE BERLIN WALL was shot and edited in Berlin with the main photography taking place in Hellersdorf, Berlin.
