  • Ain't No Gold on Gold Mountain

Official Selection, Plume y Pellicule, Sierre, Switzerland, 2022

Offical Selection, Meet your Match, Dreamago, 2022

Deep winter, high in the Sierra Nevada mountains in 1867. Three Chinese railroad workers are forced to work under brutal conditions on the construction of the Trans-Continental Railroad. When an accident strikes, the servants become masters as they carry their brutal Bossman down the mountain.

A revisionist Western and a homage to John Ford: “Ain’t No Gold on Gold Mountain” explores the idea that the brutal politics in America today are the same as the brutal politics of its past. Using the forgotten story of the Chinese immigration into the US, the film shows how greed and profit are placed over and above human life and how in 1867, the US was making the same mistakes as today - demonizing the very immigrants who are the lifeblood of America’s wealth and progress.
